- Second Kentucky fugitive caught in Muhlenberg County
The second of two Kentucky prison escapees that caused a Tuesday manhunt on Evansville's North Side has been apprehended.Muhlenberg County, Ky., Sheriff Eddie Perry said his officers arrested 53-year-old John Alstatt in Bremen, Ky.Acting on a tip that Alstatt could be visiting his sister in the area, officers followed Alstatt's sister to a Wal-Mart near a wooded area. Perry said officers watched Alstatt emerge from the wooded area and head toward his sister's vehicle. He was then taken into custody.

INDIANAPOLIS — A proposal to build an indoor-outdoor museum and recreational facility in Warrick County that would include an aquarium, movie theater, marina, hotels and restaurants met with some skeptical questions from state lawmakers on Wednesday. The nonprofit Hoosier Heritage Youth Foundation wants to build a conservation "interpretive center" called Village Earth on 272 acres of mining reclamation land in northwestern Warrick County. The site is next to the Blue Grass Fish and Wildlife Area, within the new Interstate 69 corridor. Located south of Elberfeld, Village Earth would have an educational component, with animatronic exhibits on the history of the area, an aquarium and a wind farm.

The Democratic National Convention just keeps getting better for Terry White. The 55-year-old White, who is participating in his first national convention in almost 40 years as a party activist, came to Denver as an alternate who had supported Hillary Rodham Clinton for president. But when a Clinton delegate from Vincennes went home with an injury, White was tapped to fill her spot. As a delegate with full floor privileges, he voted to formally nominate Barack Obama for president.
